The Fourier spectrum is a complex function of frequency which cannot
be displayed in a convenient way. Usually the amplitude or magnitude
of the spectrum is of interest (see Fig. 11) which is calculated as the
absolute value of the Fourier spectrum X(F). In addition
the phase might be of interest which is calculated as .
